A Child Imagination

a child's imagination
hasn't any ends
because they actually believe
they have invisible friends
they can make mud pies
and pretend they're really good
and make a pirates sword
just out of nails and wood
they can swim across the ocean
in the shallow end of the pool
and parachute off the highest building
with a plastic bag and a stool
they can blow up the world
with a water balloon
and skip around hot lava
on the surface of the moon
they can bunge cord jump
off the top bunk bed
and contact aliens
through the thoughts in their head
a child's imagination
hasn't any ends
and that is why
they are my best friends
