Within my eyes
is a complete reflection of the world we live in.
Except every time I blink,
the world in my eyes is destroyed
and ceases to exist.
Though when I reopen my eyes
it is reborn
and continues to thrive again.
The only real difference between these two worlds
is that whenever I cry in our real world...
it rains in my fake one.
And the only true evidence
to have ever escaped through the barrier between the two worlds
is the flood runoff that stains my cheeks
and evaporates into the atmosphere of the real world;
taking such forms as stormy Atlantic rainclouds,
the condensation on your great aunt's wine glass,
and this tear in my hand.
